Apartment Review for Marina Landing - Galveston, TX

I have lived at Marina Landing two years and I am SO GLAD TO GET OUT! Working 8 to 5 I like to sleep at night and that is pretty impossible with the boom boxes and people gathering in the stairwell or parking lot drinking and smoking dope. When I walk my dog in the evening it is a fact that I will see one or two police cars in the complex checking out a disturbance or a crime such as breaking into cars or apartments. To feel even more insecure, the management has an evening answering service that is paid to be rude and tell us that when the airconditioning unit stops shooting out cold air and you know it is 100 degrees or more in your apartment it is not an emergency. Not only is the answering service rude the office staff tells you they are so sorry and then you wait. My air conditioning went out for 48 hours to 72 hours in the summer three times in two years. My utility bills ran $300 in the summer due to faulty equipment including a bad box outside! The lack of safety in the parking lot, the gates never being locked, the pools being closed or full of kids who live next door in the other apartment complexes and the fact that I could go into the parking lot and stand by my car and buy any kind of drug, DVD machine or TV or whatever the criminal is selling made me RUN FAST from this complex. It is HORRIBLE! The stress is unbelieveable and to add insult to injury when I renewed my lease they raised my rent $50 per month. It has been a nightmare! I am so GLAD TO GET OUT!
